The report focuses on two relevant aspects, related to the theme of innovation, technology transfer and the possible existence of bottlenecks. Firstly, it presents an analysis of the STEM graduates who left the Tuscan universities in the period 2008-2020, in terms of socio-demographic characteristics and professional outcomes. It is aimed at identifying the peculiarities of a specific band of human resources contiguous to the challenges of the double green and digital transition and to the purposes of the Smart Specialisation Strategies (S3).
Secondly, it offers a monitoring of the technology transfer actions implemented by Tuscan universities, considering, in addition to the structural characteristics of the various university institutions, with reference to personnel and the available structures and infrastructures, also the patenting and entrepreneurial actions, pertaining to the so-called Third Mission, with particular attention to their relationship with the technological priorities and application areas of the S3.
