The research, carried out as part of the common activities of IRPET with the Tuscany Region, was curated by Letizia Ravagli and Maria Luisa Maitino with the collaboration of the IXÈ S.r.l. Institute. The research pertains to the Models Area for the analysis of sectoral interdependencies, of the relations between economy and environment, microsimulation models coordinated by Renato Paniccià.

In 2022, for the second consecutive year, Irpet carried out a sample survey on the incomes and living conditions of Tuscan families, in collaboration with the University of Siena. The survey, carried out by telephone and online (CATI and CAWI), involved a sample of 3,017 families stratified by age group of the respondent, citizenship, production area and district area. The interviews, carried out in October 2022, make it possible to provide an up-to-date picture of the economic conditions of Tuscan families, hit first by the pandemic and then by the energy crisis and inflation, with details at a sub-regional level. Part of the survey is dedicated to investigating how household consumption habits are changing and will change as a result of the energy crisis and rising prices.
