TEMA – LO SPETTACOLO DAL VIVO OLTRE LA CRISI / LIVE ENTERTAINMENT BEYOND THE CRISIS
Articolo di Annalisa Cicerchia e Sabrina Iommi
At the global level, all cultural and creative industries were severely affected by the measures taken to combat the pandemic, but the entertainment sector was the most affected by the crisis. The pandemic has rendered impractical all entertainment activities that require the physical presence of the audience. The long closures have led to the termination of many businesses worldwide and hit hard an already structurally fragile, precarious, and poorly protected workforce. The negative short – and medium – term repercussions are not limited to the sector, since entertainment, in all its aspects, contributes directly and indirectly to the economy and employment, and plays an irreplaceable social role in tourism, education and welfare. The article aims to reconstruct the dynamics of employment in the entertainment sector in 2020 and 2021 in Europe and Italy, with a detail on the Tuscany region, comparing the data with those before the pandemic.
Keywords: cultural occupation, cultural sector, culture statistics, Covid-19 impact
